Pennsylvania (PA) diabetes statistics and diabetes death rates:

  • 6.7 out of every 100 adults in Pennsylvania has diabetes, ranking it 21st in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes to the general population.
  • 24.6 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Pennsylvania are due to diabetes, ranking Pennsylvania 31st in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
  • In 2005, 762,000 Pennsylvania adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007, 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
