North Dakota (ND) diabetes statistics, facts, and death rates:

  • 5.4 out of every 100 adults in North Dakota has diabetes, ranking it 42nd in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes in the general population.
  • 26.9 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in North Dakota are due to diabetes.  ND ranks 22nd highest in the U.S. for the number of deaths from diabetes.
  • In 2005, 31,000 adults  in North Dakota were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007, 6% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
