New Mexico diabetes statistics and death rates:

6.1 out of every 100 adults in New Mexico has diabetes, ranking it 29th highest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes to the general population.
32.9 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in New Mexico are due to diabetes, ranking New Mexico 4th highest in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
In 2005, 96,000 New Mexico adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007, 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
