Maine diabetes statistics and death rates:

6.6 out of every 100 adults in Maine has diabetes, ranking it 25th highest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes to the general population.
27 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Maine are due to diabetes; ranking 20th highest in the nation for diabetes deaths.
In 2005, 77,000 Maine adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
