Hawaii diabetes statistics and death rates:

  • 5.8 out of every 100 adults in Hawaii has diabetes, ranking it 35th lowest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes to the general population.
  • 15.2 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Hawaii are due to diabetes and Hawaii has the lowest ratio of diabetes related deaths in the United States.
  • In 2007, 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes and another 3% of Hawaiians had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
