Florida diabetes statistics and death rates:

  • 7 out of every 100 adults in Florida has diabetes, ranking it 14th in the nation for the highest ratio of people with diabetes in the general population.
  • 21.4 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Florida are due to diabetes, ranking 41st in the nation.
  • In 2005, 1,112,000 Florida adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
