8.3 out of every 100 adults in District of Columbia has diabetes, ranking it 4th highest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes to the general population.
33.9 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in District of Columbia are due to diabetes, ranking District of Columbia 3rd highest in the nation for diabetes-related deaths.
In 2005, 35,000 District of Columbia adults were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007 8% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
