Arkansas (AK) diabetes statistics, facts, and diabetes death rates:

  • 4.7 out of every 100 adults in Arkansas has diabetes, ranking it 50th lowest in the nation for the ratio of people with diabetes in the general population.
  • 21.9 out of every adult 100,000 deaths in Arkansas are due to diabetes; AK ranks 40th in the nation for the number of deaths from diabetes.
  • In 2005, 156,000 adults  in Arkansas were diagnosed with diabetes and by 2007, 9% of the total adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.
