Accomplishments
of Lahle A. Wolfe
Ms. Wolfe is the original founder of iPump and is largely
responsible for the impressive growth of the organization. In less than two years, she has turned iPump
into the largest, and only, full-service, diabetes assistance organization
serving the entire United States. To date, iPump has received nearly one
million dollars in in-kind donations and has provided assistance to thousands
of people in 46 states.
Ms. Wolfe is the first, and only person, to successfully
partner a nonprofit organization with an insulin pump company to facilitate the
recertification of used insulin pumps, that are then distributed for free to diabetics
in need. No other organization currently
has this privilege, or serves this need.
Ms. Wolfe is the owner and president of Islets of Hope
(IOH), a health-on-the-net certified diabetes information website. The website lists thousands of legal and
financial resources for people with diabetes, and allows other business owners
living with diabetes to advertise for free on the site.
Ms. Wolfe is
a paid writer for the New York Times (NYT), and created and authors a website
for the NTY for business women. She has
written publications on the legal rights of diabetics in public schools and the
workplace which have been adopted by the New Mexico Department of Health.
Ms. Wolfe and her personal and professional accomplishments
as a diabetes advocate have been featured in numerous media, including the “Washington
Post,” “Woman’s Day Magazine,” “Diabetes Forecast Magazine,” “The San Francisco
Chronicle,” “USA Today,” and on WedMD.
