Background and Professional Experience:
For the last decade the focus of his practice has been insurance-related
litigation on behalf of insurance policyholders. In 1999 he joined Shernoff Bidart &
Darras, LLP, heading the firm’s appellate practice group. In 2000, he was made
partner in the firm.
Mr. Ehrlichhas briefed or supervised the briefing in more than 175 appeals, and has argued
more than 75 appeals in the state and federal courts throughout the United
States. Mr. Ehrlich has argued in the United States Supreme Court, before seven
of the 13 federal circuit courts of appeal, and six of the seven California
courts of appeal.
A parent of a
child with diabetes, Mr. Ehrlich has been actively involved with the Disability
Rights and Defense Education Fund (DREDF) and the American Diabetes Association
(ADA) in successfully changing California Laws regarding the rights of students
with diabetes in public schools. He also
services as treasurer for the San Bernardino County, CA chapter of the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
