Now 400 of the 1000 diabetes practice hours required to qualify for the exam can be gained through a voluntary mentorship program. The goal is to provide healthcare professionals who need experience in providing diabetes self-management education with needed hours and hands-on clinical experience with a seasoned CDE®. The NCBDE is asking experienced CDE's to apply to become Mentors.
