Please Nominate iPump for a Shorty Award
If you have a Twitter account please nominate iPump for a Shorty Award to help us spread the word about how we help people with diabetes. Last year tens of thousands of people with diabetes lost their jobs and insurance. The need for assistance programs to help those struggling with the high cost of diabetes has never been greater.
Since 2006, iPump has shipped supplies to help more than 20,000 people – all with a full-time volunteer staff of one (we also have other volunteers kick in free labor from time to time and a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.) To continue to grow, we need to raise awareness and funding to hire staff to meet the demands of our thriving organization.
You can start by nominating us for a Shorty Award directly at http://shortyawards.com/ipumpcharity or simply tweet the phrase: I nominate @ipumpcharity for a Shorty Award in #nonprofit because… (and tweet why you are nominating us.)
Please ask others to help as well.
Thank you for your time and kind support.

Tax Receipt Update
The IRS allows us until February 2010 to provide tax receipts for 2009 donations. However, we understand that many people like to get an early start on taxes. We are working hard to get all tax receipts out no later than the first week in January 2010.
We appreciate your patience – iPump is an all-volunteer organization and we work as quickly as we can to keep our donors and clients happy!
UPDATE: 01/12/2010 All tax receipts have now been mailed. If you have not received your tax receipt by next week please Email Us with the subject TAX RECEIPT. We receive many donations that do not have any notes inside boxes and do our best to read return addresses from the outside of packages but it is not always possible to read a clear return address. Also, we cannot nail receipts for shipments sent from UPS stores that do not show any other return address.

Embrace the Color Blue Today to Celebrate World Diabetes Day
Thank you to the World Diabetes Day USA Team for the following great idea:
EMBRACE THE COLOR BLUE
- Wear blue, light a blue candle, put up a blue light bulb or even paint your nails blue.
- Wear enough blue that people will ask: “Why are you wearing so much blue?” Let them know it’s World Diabetes Day and why it matters to you.
Tell everyone you know that today, November 14, 2009 is World Diabetes Day!
